Mind Vacuum Part V

May looked at his desk more closely and saw his computer was just a laptop that folded twice.  She thought it probably collapsed smaller so it was easier to carry.  Kenchi rubbed against May as he was gathering his computer.  May examined him sweetly.
“Are you always this friendly with girls you’ve just met?” She teased.
“Uh, no, but I like to think we hold a connection.  I’m staying overnight correct?” Kenchi asked.
“Yes Kenchi.” She stood blocking his desk.  Interrupting the moment, the phone suddenly buzzed.
Kenchi quickly moved past May and answered the phone while his attention was directed outside.
            “Hello?” Kenchi answered.
“Hey, Kenchi, is May with you?  I wondered when you two were coming over.  Mom is making a great dinner!” Tena replied.
“Oh, we are just getting ready to…” Kenchi stopped and saw a giant fireball enter the atmosphere.  It lit up the evening sky as if it was still midday and it landed at least two miles from his house.  He and May watched in awe as the meteor landed into the trees to the north.  A rumble resulted and shook the whole house.
“Earthquake!  Everyone to the basement!” Hikashi yelled out.
“It’s no earthquake grandfather, a meteor just touched down.  May and I are going to go check it out.” Kenchi called back to his grandfather.  He looked at the phone. “Uh Tena, we’ll be about another hour before we leave for your place.  We’ll fill you in later.  Bye.”
“So…We are going to investigate the meteor?  Do you think that is wise considering it could be of organic material?”
“Yes, here’s a backpack, we might grab a sample for tomorrow’s class.  Let’s go.” Kenchi grabbed his overnight bag as well as a small pack for the little excursion they were going on.  May followed Kenchi and walked quickly to catch up with him as he started down the worn path toward the trees to the north.  Late afternoon and the sun still shown in the sky, Kenchi kept his mind focused on finding the meteor and May kept quiet thinking about what the meteor would look like when they arrived on site.
The two trudged on through the dense forest and soon May could feel the intense heat from the crash site.  It warmed her legs mostly, but filled her with awe.  Kenchi stopped suddenly, “Wait a moment.” Kenchi held his hand back motioning for May to stay put.  He walked further through the foliage and saw the massive crater at least fifty to one hundred feet in diameter, thick black smoke rose from the dense object that lay even further below.
Kenchi surveyed the area and noted that there were no unstable elements to cause them to fall deep into the earth from the upturn of the earth.  He then called for May to join him.  The meteor was deeply entrenched in the earth’s surface.  Its composition seemed to be of hard rock and metal, as well as oozing green material streaming from the inner core of the meteor.  As Kenchi looked closer he could see that the material was organic and started flowing out from the rock in a spastic arranged pattern.  Kenchi and May still kept back from the actual rock and could see the ooze crawling along the surface of the ground.  The ooze seemed to see them and rise itself up.
It shot itself into the air splitting in two, Kenchi and May saw the shot coming and raised their bags to deflect the shot.  The large amounts of ooze splattered off the surface of the bags and landed back onto the ground.  When Kenchi looked down at his hand that held the bag, he saw a small drop of the greenish liquid trying to invade his skin.  May screamed out in pain and Kenchi found the pain excruciating as the liquid tried to enter his body.  The organic compound seared his flesh, but then fell off his hand as if it held a vile plague.  The ooze fell off of May’s hand as well and crawled back to the larger mass.
May held her hand for several minutes, “Let’s get out of here.”
“I’m getting a sample.  It could have killed us but it didn’t.” Kenchi gathered up a glop of the ooze into a test tube and then stuck it safely in his pack.  He joined May and helped her away from the still smoldering crash site.
“We can get to our house sooner if we take the bus over there.  Is that alright?” May was still shaken from the unusual attack they received.
“That would be fine; do you have a microscope at your place?”
“Yeah, we keep it in our basement.  That meteor is more than just a lump of rock.  It definitely is more alien than just inanimate ore.” May answered.
“It almost wanted to see if it could penetrate our skin.  It felt like a burning sensation when the ooze came into contact with our skin.” Kenchi and May walked in silence from the site to the bus station.
“Do you think this will cause upset at the school?” May asked finally. She examined her left hand and noticed the green ooze caused a unique scar where her thumb and fore finger parted.  The scar formed a circle with two prongs changing to a V format in the center of the scar. “Look at your left hand, Kenchi.”  Kenchi looked and saw the same scar had formed on his left hand as well.
“Isn’t that interesting?  The ooze bonded us together through these scars.  Let’s try not to draw attention to it at school.”
“How is that going to be possible?  What if someone asks?”
“Change the subject; get their mind off the scar.  Until we both know what this ooze is, let’s keep it quiet.  And to answer your question earlier, I think the meteor will cause a lot of stir at school.  I think though that the physics teacher would be someone we could trust.  He showed us the trajectory of the meteor as it was entering our solar system.  Hero Higashi is really into astro phenomenon.”
The two boarded the bus and started their trip over to May’s house. May interrupted. “Hero Higashi is at our school?”
“Yeah, why, do you know him?”
“My father knew him.  They worked together on some projects in our garage.  I was always watching.  He treated me strangely, but with respect.”
“It’s good you know him, it’ll make it easier to explain things.” Kenchi pulled out the test tube holding the sample.  The ooze moved back and forth, wanting to find a way out of its imprisonment.  “We may have to keep this sample in the vile.  Do you have any adapters to your microscope?” Kenchi asked.
“Oh, I have that, just you wait and see.” May smiled.  They were coming up on their stop.  The two walked briskly off the bus and toward May’s house.  It was a quiet neighborhood with two story apartments lining the street.  Kenchi couldn’t help notice the difference in each building.  Some were tall and others were short.  Each one held two apartments. “What exactly are these called?”
“They are the city’s new project for low income families.” May said quietly.  They stopped in front of one of the tall duplexes.
“I didn’t know your family was having such a hard time.  I’m sorry; it probably puts you at an inconvenience for me coming over.” Kenchi lowered his eyes to the cement.
“It’s alright, we’re here, and we occupy both levels.  My mother will be pleased to meet you even if Tena tries to monopolize us.  Remember you have a sample to check on.” May replied still examining the oddly shaped scar on her hand.  Kenchi and May walked up to the door and May opened it wide. “Mom, I’m home! I brought a friend.”
“Just a minute, May, I would like to meet them before scurrying upstairs.” A smooth voice called from the other room.  A tall woman with hair the color of bronze came out wearing a tight Kimono set with flower patterns.  She was clearly not Japanese.  She had narrow cheeks and a high neck, her eyes were set widely apart and the eyes were much bigger than a Japanese woman.  She smiled brightly at the guest.
“Oh, so this is Kenchi, I keep hearing about.  Tena won’t stop talking about you.  She thinks you’re taken by her, but I see otherwise.” May’s mother replied.
“Mother!” May was incensed at the observation.  She turned to Kenchi. “This is my mother.”
Mrs. Oinyado extended her hand. “Jessica, to my friends.  It’s a pleasure to meet you. Tena is in the basement trying to find something.  Dinner will be in twenty minutes, you two, don’t be late.” She hurried off to the kitchen.  Kenchi thought her to be very attractive for Tena and May’s mother.  Both twins must have gotten certain genes from her to enhance their beauty as well.
“Come on, we have an electronic microscope to find.” May led Kenchi down to the basement where they could hear Tena rummaging through some boxes.  May kept going to another pile of clutter in a small corner of the basement.  Tena suddenly poked her head up over a box she was examining.  She smiled at her sister and then waved at Kenchi. “I was wondering if you two were ever coming.  What kept you?”
“The bus took a longer route than what we were used to.  Kenchi’s house is quite a ways from ours, Tena.  Give us some time and we can help you with whatever you’re doing.” May told her sister.  She kept her scar covered with her other hand, Kenchi was the only one that noticed.
“What are you doing down here anyway? You never come down here.” May asked Tena.
“I’m looking for a picture of father, so the student council can see what he looked like.” She snapped.
“Tena, I was only asking.  The photo albums are in that box over there in the corner.  I’m just getting the electronic microscope.” May answered, surprised at Tena’s tone.
“I’m sorry; I just have to find it so I can construct a working family tree.  The student council is trying to keep each member working on their own family genealogy.  What do you want dad’s microscope for?” Tena got up and hugged her sister.
“Kenchi has a sample of something that we don’t know what it really is so I thought having a more powerful microscope will help us analyze it properly.” May answered.
“What did you find, Kenchi?” Tena jumped up and stood against Kenchi’s back.
“Just some residue off some odd rocks.” Kenchi said. He winked at May keeping their secrets.
“Oh, is that all.  Well, I’m going to keep looking for the pictures; I’ll see you at dinner.” Tena quickly detached herself from Kenchi and went back looking through boxes.
May sighed quietly and went to the box that held her father’s special microscope.  She looked at Kenchi.  “Could you carry this upstairs?”
“Sure.” Kenchi picked up the box and followed May upstairs.  He followed until they reached her room on the second floor.  She opened the door and flipped on three switches.  The main light turned on as well as a large computer monitor in the corner as well as her table lamps.  Her room was more like a work room than anything.  On the work table were a soldering gun and precision tools for delicate electrical work.

Mind Vacuum Part IV

May soon joined Kenchi as he walked out. “Hey are you ready to grab the bus to your house?  Tena is keeping herself busy with her new friends; she is still trying to get into the student council even after the first day.  She won’t be home until later.  I’ll join you to your grandfather’s though.”
“That would be great.  We’ll only be about an hour there.  Then we can go to your place.” Kenchi kept close to May as they walked out of the school.  Everyone there seemed excited to leave for the day.  Kenchi couldn’t blame them, this day had definitely been eventful, and it wasn’t even over yet.  The two filed onto the bus among the chattering classmates.  They just walked to the back and sat next to each other.  Kenchi thought it best to stay quiet until the bus was less crowded to talk.
“Are we almost to our stop?” After twenty five minutes of traveling, May asked the driver of the bus.
“Almost ma’am, we are to our last stop in about five minutes.” The driver replied.
“I guess you’re a little anxious aren’t you?” Kenchi asked.
“I guess I am.  How far is it to your grandfather’s house?” May asked politely.
“After we get dropped off it’s only about half a mile down the road.  The house my grandfather lives in is very large and many of the rooms are empty or they have stuff in them my grandfather doesn’t want anymore.  I haven’t been through those rooms yet so I don’t know what’s in them.” Kenchi explained.
“Maybe its part of your parent’s history.  Did you ever consider that?” May asked.
“I really never thought about it much.  That could give me a lot to think about.  Oh, we’re here.” Kenchi’s eyes lit up as they pulled up to the stop.
Kenchi and May got up together and walked off the bus.  He breathed deeply when he smelled the country air.  Even though he liked New Tokyo, he preferred the country to the city.  May walked in step with him as they started their walk down the dusty gravel road.  The trees made for a canopy over them, creating a tree tunnel to walk through.  The sunlight shone through the openings in the trees and created spider webs of light on the path.  May’s hair shone with black and deep red in her hair.
“I didn’t realize how you have red in your hair.  I thought it was just plain black.  Are you and Tena really twins?”
“We truly are, unfortunately.  Sometimes she shows a sweet quiet personality, but for the most part she is loud and boisterous.  She dyed her hair in response to our father dying.  Our mother hasn’t wanted to think about him, she is taking it really hard though.” May’s eyes became sad.
“I’m sorry, I won’t mention the loss of my parents, perhaps I can treat her like a mother I don’t have.  Is that okay?” Kenchi held May’s hand.
“That’s fine; we could get closer that way.  My mother would view you as a son and it won’t be as awkward for you coming over.” May smiled as she squeezed Kenchi’s hand.  She looked ahead and saw a large dojo of a house. “Wow, is that your house?”
“It sure is, come on let’s hurry so we can go to your place.  I don’t like spending time here a great deal.  You’ll see why.” Kenchi hurried them along to the front door. Both he and May took their shoes off and slid the door open.
“Grandfather, I’m here!” Kenchi called out.  A short wrinkled man came walking out from the kitchen.
“You’re late; I can’t do all this myself.” The little man looked over at May and his eyes widened. “Oh, now I see, you’re very pretty.  I hope he holds on to you that way I can give up this house to Kenchi.  I can then retire to a tropical island around no people.  What’s your name young lady?” Grandfather asked May.
“My name is May Oinyado, and your name?” May asked politely.
“I am Hikashi Ottonaga; I built this house with my own two hands.  Your family is known too though.  Your father was a great warrior, even your grandfather was.  You will survive, would you like some food? Extra clothes or a place to stay?” Hikashi asked.
“Grandfather!  We just came to see if you needed anything.  I’m going over to May’s house for the evening.  I might be back tonight or you might see me tomorrow.  I wanted to see the meteor land.” Kenchi answered his grandfather.
“Be careful Kenchi.  Your father investigated Mars colony before it was there.  There are evil things out there.  We must be careful.” Hikashi answered.  He slowly turned away from the two. “I’ll be in the den.  Don’t bother me!  I will be fine until you get back.  Enjoy the Oinyado family, say hello to Miss Oinyado for me.  She is not Japanese, she is from America.  I talk too much, you have fun.” Hikashi smiled once more as he hobbled away.
“I have some things to get from my room, would you like to see the upstairs?” Kenchi asked.
“I would like that.” May followed Kenchi up the sturdy wooden staircase.  The walls leading up were carved with dragons and Japanese characters symbolizing peace and goodwill.  May moved her fingers across one of the carvings of a menacing dragon.
“Why does this house have so many dragon carvings?  Is there some kind of significance with them?”
“Yes and no, my father enjoyed decorating with dragons, but my grandfather swears they protect the house.  He even has gone as far to say that there are two dragons living beneath the house.  My grandfather told me an ancient tale of two warriors of ancient times who made a pact right on this establishment that they would fight each other until each had sought their revenge.  A massively large and ancient dragon stopped the two from fighting and made them swear to not fight but to join together and lead the land into a peaceful age.  Grandfather says they were his ancestors and they are buried a distance from here close to the lake.  I tend to just give into his ranting, but I don’t really believe him that much.”
“That is quite a story and it is hard to just come up with it on a whim, perhaps some of it is true.” May said quietly.
“Perhaps…” Kenchi smiled as he led them to his large room down the hall, he slid the door open and May got a glimpse into Kenchi’s interest.  He had the typical bed, several posters of movies from America, his computer was situated on an ornate desk with very minimal clutter and he had a tall dresser next to it with various papers stacked on top of it.  Kenchi busied himself with a backpack, neatly placing his clothes in it along with a few essentials for the next day.

Mind Vacuum Part III

Continuing onward...

“What’s your next class?” May asked innocently.
“I have solar aviation/astro-physics next.  That should be an interesting class.” Kenchi replied.
“I have science & tech class.  I’ll see you later.” May waved as she left.  Kenchi stood for a moment just staring after her; he then felt a jab at his side.  Roturo smiled at Kenchi, “I see you already have some interest in someone.”
“Well, we just met this morning and I already have an invitation to her house.” Kenchi shuffled as the two walked out of the room.
“That’s cool, what class do you have next?” Roturo asked.
            “Solar aviation/Astro-Physics, How about you?”
“The same, lets be lab partners, you know how I need all the help I can get.”  Roturo answered.  Kenchi just smiled and the two friends hurried to the next class.
They entered the room and there was a young man in a white lab coat waiting there.  He wrote several dates on the board along with explanations of each date.  The list was compiled in order according to date:
1950: The Silicon Solar Cell Invented
1974: The First Solar Powered Flight occurs by craft Sunrise I
1981: The First Manned Solar Powered Flight
1986: The First Berblinger Competition Occurs.
2001: Helios sets the altitude record for Solar Powered Aircraft
2009: Solar Impulse Project
2011: Transcontinental Flight
2012: Continuous Flight around the world
2021: Solar Impulse Project approved by Government
2049: All Aircraft are fitted with Solar Panels and Engines
2061: First Light speed project to Alpha Centari
2087: First Contact with Alien Species.
2099: Warp Drive is achieved through Japanese Scientist.
2131: Solar Impulse which was initiated by Bertrand Piccard, Now major company/assembly Warp Ships
2144: First Alien Meteor to land unknown location in New Tokyo…
Along with all the dates written there were mathematical equations on the board.  Kenchi wondered just how young this teacher was.  He turned around to face them.  He was older than he looked.  His hair was black with gray streaked through his bangs.  His sideburns were peppered by grey hairs and his mustache was black.  The man had thin glasses hanging just barely from his nose.  He smiled quickly.
“Hello, I’m Hero Higashi, I’m sure you’re wondering what I’m doing.  When all are seated I will explain.” Mr. Higashi explained.
Kenchi and Roturo sat next to each other at the lab table closest to the front and waited in anticipation of what Mr. Higashi was to say.  The rest of the class started shuffling into the room, chattering to each other.
Mr. Higashi cleared his throat and interrupted the class. “Good Morning Class, I’m Mr. Higashi and we have something special to discuss today.  There is a medium sized meteor heading straight for Earth.  It should hit either tonight or tomorrow.  According to my calculations you see up here on the board, it should hit in the harvesting fields about five or six miles from here.”
Kenchi raised his hand.  Mr. Higashi looked at his seating chart. “Kenchi Ottonaga, you have a question?”
“Yes sir, first what does the meteor have to do with the dates of Solar Aviation written on the board? Second, why haven’t we heard of this sooner from the media?  Is there a logical reason?”  Kenchi was puzzled by the suddenness of the information.
“Good questions Kenchi, first the dates on the board are in regard to projects that have come to completion throughout two centuries, we are at a breakthrough now seeing the meteor come to Earth.  We have accomplished so much throughout the last two centuries that it is only fitting that I add it to the list.  Second, the military is keeping a close watch on the meteor; they don’t want mass panic when one is not required.  Also the media have been cut off from this discovery.  The best scientific minds have collaborated together to find the actual trajectory of the meteor.
What we can do is analyze the information we have on the piece of rock.  You will see in front of you a folder with contents of reading on the meteor.  I want you to read it and help figure out if something is different about this from other meteors.  Begin!” Mr. Higashi finished.
The class was a buzz of activity trying to determine what made up the meteor.  Kenchi examined the elements of the meteor according to the information provided and came to a discovery.  This meteor had a very high density level to it. It had biological properties to it.  He raised his hand.
“Mr. Higashi, I have given this information careful thought and found that the meteor has biological properties.  It is alive!  It could be a life form that will crash here.” Kenchi answered humbly.
That changes things altogether, this could be first contact with another alien race.  Think of the possibilities for science.” Mr. Higashi was getting excited.
“Haven’t we already made contact with aliens?  I mean we do trade through intergalactic alien trade.  All the aliens we have encountered treat us with respect and us likewise.” Kenchi continued.
“You’re right, Kenchi, in fact there are three aliens teaching at this very school.  One teaches Mathematics, one Quantum Mechanics, and one teaching bio-engineering.  There are many aliens living here in New Tokyo, let’s get back on the subject though of this meteor.  Kenchi, you said that this mass has biological properties.  What are we looking for?” Mr. Higashi asked.
Roturo answered that question. “We are looking for multiple amino acids, cellular residue and organisms living within the mass.  Just out of curiosity, where is the meteor now?”
“Let’s find out!” Mr. Higashi pulled out a remote and clicked the button to lower a large organic light emitting diode screen.  Instantly satellite images came up.  An animated image switched showing the Earth and the unidentified meteor slowly increasing its speed to the vicinity of the planet.
“At its current speed, the meteor should land within ten more hours give or take an hour.” Mr. Higashi pointed out.  A hand went up from the back of the class.  “Yes, Miss Oinyado.”
“Mr. Higashi, the mathematical equations show no basis for gravitational shift and the Earth’s rotation.  The meteor could very well burn up in the atmosphere.” Tena relayed.
“Tena, that’s a good argument, however, that information has been acquired and the compensation has been made.  When I made the discovery, I sent out my findings to the Science Society and they relayed the corrected coordinates.  The meteor is heading for New Tokyo.” Mr. Higashi smiled in a sinister way, but made his point firm.
At that moment the bell rang.  “Everyone, tomorrow we’ll get started on our actual lesson dealing with the history of Solar Aviation.  Have a good day.  Think about this while you go through the day.  You’ll get extra credit for getting further information on the meteor.” The class began shuffling out and Roturo was impressed by Tena’s answer.
“Tena, that was really cool.  I didn’t know you had so much knowledge for astro-physics.”
Tena shuffled her feet and looked up at Roturo, “I started learning it last year at our last school.  I’ve really become quite fond of the theories and everything.” Tena smiled.  She nudged Kenchi just in the slightest just enough for him to notice.
“I’m very impressed.  It’s hard to learn new information when you’re moving around a lot.  Are you like this at home?” Roturo asked.
“Oh no, I try to help my Mom whenever I can at home.  She only sees us study later at night.  That’s when I can concentrate.  We’ll, I’ve got to go to Home Economics, Kenchi is supposed to meet May and I for lunch.  Would you like to join us?”
“I would love to.  I’ll see you then.” Roturo smiled as Tena left. She winked as she turned and hurried out the door.
“What do you think of that Kenchi, a girl winked at me?  No girl has ever winked at me.  What does she want?” Roturo nervously twitched.
“Roturo, don’t get so nervous.  You always get this way around girls.  You walk yourself into a wreck.  Just concentrate on the next class and come with me at lunch alright?”
“Alright, I’ll get to my next class and I’ll see you at lunch.” Roturo rushed off.
Kenchi walked briskly to his next class.  The rest of his morning went average.  He had three more classes all of which were normal academic classes.  He didn’t see May or Tena the rest of the morning.  He hoped though that he would see them in the afternoon. Lunch came soon enough and the students were aloud to go outside and socialize.  Kenchi and Roturo started making their way outside.  Kenchi lightened up when he saw shy, quiet May and then her boisterous sister Tena walked up standing next to her.
Tena quickly waved to the boys as they came closer.  “I thought you weren’t coming.  I’m glad to see both of you.”
“Us too.  I didn’t have any other classes with either one of you and I was hoping to see you at lunch.  Shall we sit?” Kenchi replied.  He smiled at May, who just smiled back and sat down.  Kenchi looked at Roturo for a moment; he was still standing looking past the trees as if he were in a trance.
“Come on Roturo, sit down.” Kenchi finally said.
“Huh?  Uh, I have to go, I’ll see you later.”  Roturo answered.  He wandered off toward the trees.  A single brunette haired girl stood waiting for him.  She kissed him on the lips passionately and led him off from the main group of high school students.
“Humph!  That was rude; he already had plans for lunch.  He didn’t just have to up and leave us.” Tena huffed.
“We can’t expect people to change who they are dear sister.  Just sit, Kenchi is still here.  Isn’t that enough?” May sternly told her sister.
Tena changed her mood instantly; she smiled and sat down close to Kenchi.  She clutched his arm and then pulled out her lunch. “Did you bring your lunch?”
“Oh, yes, I brought my lunch.  So what classes do you have this afternoon?” Kenchi pulled out his small lunch pack.
“Oh you know the usual classes.  I even have Drama and Music.  Hey are you taking those things?” Tena teased.
“Actually I am taking music, and since there is only one class with that I will be with you.” Kenchi half smiled.
“May is naturally gifted with music.  I took lessons on the piano and have loved the instrument.” Tena chattered on and on as she finished her lunch. “I have to go now; Ionya is waiting for me at the student council office.  She said I could come and see if I would like the office to work in.  See you at music Kenchi.” Tena winked and giggled.  She ran off toward the school leaving Kenchi and May alone.
“Does your sister feel nervous all the time or is it just around boys?” Kenchi asked May.
“I would think that even though we’ve only known you one day, you could figure out it’s her personality.  She thrives with human interaction; her mind is like a social sponge.  I on the other hand tend to read and do other things to occupy my time.  I limit my friends and I just keep the ones I have.  You, so far have been a true friend and I hope that you still want to come over tonight.” May explained.
“I wouldn’t turn down the invitation at all.” Kenchi said as he looked deeply into May’s beautiful brown eyes.  “There is one thing I must do first.  I need to check on my grandfather and make sure he doesn’t need anything.”
“Do you want some company?  I would love to meet your grandfather.  After we do that we can call Tena and tell her we’re on the way.  What do you think?” May came closer.
“I suppose that would be fine.  The walk down my road is kind of lonely.  Do you think Tena will get jealous?”
“Tena, jealous? She’ll do fine.  She likes you but not in the sense of a new boyfriend.  You are like a brother she never had.  She won’t think anything of it.” May stood and Kenchi joined her.
“Class is soon to begin so I guess I’ll see you in music class.  Bye for now, it was nice having lunch with you.” May leaned close to Kenchi and kissed him passionately on the lips then released him.  She turned and left to head back to the school.
Was Kenchi getting in over his head? He just met this girl and he was already growing attached to her.  He felt a deep connection with her.  He looked forward to hearing her in music class.  His afternoon was uneventful except his music class.  May played the piano like a professional and Tena played the violin exquisitely.  They were quite a pair of twins, almost complete opposites.
Kenchi kept thinking about what was discussed in astro-physics.  The meteor was set to hit just outside of New Tokyo about the time he was to go to the Oinyado twin’s house.  Would he be able to see it?  Would it touch down near his house?  Would it touch down inside the city causing destruction?  These and other questions roamed through Kenchi’s mind.  His last class was dragging out; he looked around the room and saw that May was still paying attention.  Geography wasn’t his greatest subject, but things could change.  The teacher was tall and boring.  He could have made the class more interesting, but it was just as dull as he was.
The bell rang suddenly and Kenchi heard the teacher say, “Your real teacher will be here tomorrow.  Thank you for your patience.  Have a good day.” It came as a relief to Kenchi knowing that the actual teacher might be more interesting.
